Li Ji of Meiqing

Li Ji of Meiqing was a jurist who had been dismissed from his post on a number of occasions. People said, "Can't you pull up stakes?" He said, "If I deliver service to people while on the unbent path, how do you know that I will not be dismissed again after moving to another location? If I deliver service to people while on a bent path, what would require that I depart the native land of my ancestors?"
