Notes about foreign magic systems.

Northern magic:

The overall stat is called Power. Power substats are Life (Yang), Death (Yin), Blood (Chi).

  • Life Magic is the one most often used directly.
  • Necromancy is Life and Death.
  • Beast Mastery is Life and Blood.
  • Battle is Death and Blood.

Northern mages historically have more lopsided Power substats than Empire mages, as they will not buy up the substat that they don't use.

Southern magic:

The overall stat is called Dharma. Dharma substats are Light (Yang), Dark (Yin), and Shadow (Chi).

  • Shadow is Light and Dark in a sense (Light and Dark must co-exist to allow Shadow to exist)
  • It appears that each of the stats is used to power magics separately, like Empire magic, not Northern Magic.

Eastern magic:

Other magic:

There is at least one other tradition, which includes substats of Mystic and Mutant.
