Healing

What qualifies someone as a "healer"? A single rank in Medicine? First Aid? Herbalism? Fretting?

A rank in Medicine, or healy shticks. --Boojum 14:06, 28 April 2009 (EDT)

Is the limitation on stacking non-magical healing time-based or wound-based or what? If I get gored by a hedgehog on Tuesday and trampled by a dingo on Wednesday, can Li Merit heal the hedgehog wound while Su-yin heals the dingo damage? Does it matter if Li Merit is healing the hedgehog wound the day it occurred and/or the day Su-yin is healing the dingo damage? --Xian 12:43, 28 April 2009 (EDT)

Let's go with stacking based on the day the healing takes place:
Someone can heal some of your hedgehog damage on Tuesday (up to the maximum); then on Wednesday, they can heal the dingo damage and any leftover hedgehog damage (again, up to the maximum). --Boojum 14:06, 28 April 2009 (EDT)

So, for between-runs healing, we figure out how many days have passed between runs by looking at the logs/asking at the beginning of the run, and update accordingly if we were still damaged at the end of the last run we were in? (And, I guess, if we think HP are relevant for something we're doing in puttering, we can get a ruling about what day it is when it comes up?) --Andrea

Yup. (We don't really expect there to be a lot of damage that carries over between runs, since there are several healers in the party, and there will usually be some puttering time. For those few runs that explicitly start immediately after the last one ends, we'll make that clear.) --Boojum 10:02, 30 April 2009 (EDT)

Spending points

OK, so EPs spent on shticks are subject to the Source requirements, etc., but how about spending SPs? Is there a limit to what skills I can declare myself to have acquired? Can I just send the GMs e-mail saying "Well, I've bought one rank in Propaganda, one rank in Expressive Gestures, and two ranks in Making Coffee. Please adjust my official sheet accordingly."? --Xian 12:43, 28 April 2009 (EDT)

In general, the GM's have allowed you to just buy whatever skills you wanted. If you decide to buy a skill that is not currently on the skill list, you probably need to talk to them first to make sure they understand what you mean, but that's it. -Derrick

As Derrick said, in general, you can buy whatever skills you like (during a training montage), within reason and with some restrictions. For example, you cannot buy the Wearing Armor skill without the shtick in wearing armor. You cannot buy the Nanotechnology skill, period.
If it's on the skill list and doesn't say anything about not buying it, you can usually just pick it up (though feel free to role-play having someone teach you, if it's weird and obscure). If the GMs have some reason why some skill should be restricted, then we'll let you know, but it doesn't come up much. --Boojum 14:06, 28 April 2009 (EDT)
