NB: I think this is actually Li the Wanderer's book, not one that Autumn Rose has access to - the Cryptomancer just made us a copy of one of its pages cryptomantically. Takanata (talk) 16:48, 4 May 2014 (EDT)

So the thing the Cryptomancer obtained says that it is a page three pages after the page that mentions Autumn Rose, Tokai Takanata, and Li the Wanderer. Apparently the Palimpsest Book is self-referential? Perhaps it rewrites itself, which is how it gets its name? Should we assume that if Li has the Palimpsest Book, he can read the same page and see that Autumn Rose performed the divination, and thus that he knew we would know his name? I have thought about the "three pages after" thing, and am not sure exactly what it refers to. Autumn Rose thinks that the book refers to each iteration of her attempts to get the name, and that there are probably several references like that since she was stuck in the loop for a while. I am not totally convinced, but have no better explanation for what we might have all been on the prior page for. Li Kao thinks Li the Wanderer cannot read it very much or very often, at least, because the point of the book is that things written in it are to be forgotten, and if he was reading it and remembering it, that would defeat the purpose, but could not say that he never reads parts of it.
