Said to be both Gate and Key to the World Above (and World Below), it is believed that the Wu Xing can take humans and spirits between the worlds without the restrictions they normally face by spiritwalking or manifesting, respectively. Often sought among the followers of The Way of Fivefold Essence.
It is said that, before he became Emperor, Foon Cha'ni asked the Wu Xing to take him to speak with his father.
Some legends say that there is only ever one Wu Xing, and there is always one Wu Xing; there have, however, been times when more than one person claimed to be the Wu Xing, with unfortunate consequences.
