Church Purge

About four hundred years ago, Vytarus Scave purged the temples of the Faithmarket. This was not the first Church Purge - possibly it was the second.
This incident is somewhat touched upon by Debrin's Chronicle, which says:
At the time of the incident Debrin describes, Vytarus Scave was firmly in power. The churches seem to have come together not to directly oppose him, but to do something that they seem to have hoped would change him in some fashion, to be more like the gods, or more like the gods wanted. Sendar's priests seems to have been the keystone of this attempt; Iuma's priests did not participate (though this seems to have been considered reasonable), nor did Sssslio's (though nobody seems to have expected them to).
Anyway, whatever they were trying to do, it apparently failed, and some of the immediate results included:
- Temple to Vytarus Scave constructed
- Temple to Sendar semi-destroyed
- Temple to Anevis destroyed. Anevis was something of a companion god to Taela - he was more about buffing, she was more about healing, he was more about men, she was more about women. There's a brief mention of Anevis and Taela being considered brother and sister by the people; it sounds like that wasn't something that was confirmed by the churches.
- Temple to Kansetir destroyed. Kansetir was a similar companion god to Hessan, more about weather and untamed nature.
