A street gang youth invites Blaze to dinner at the Split Onion with A Gentleman; she's currently distracted by Max, but agrees to dinner later. After parting ways with Max, Blaze arrives at the Split Onion and makes the acquaintance of Drake, who has a proposition for her.

Due to some previous business dealings, he wants to do the Doxies' Guild a favor, and asks Blaze to be his emissary to the Temple of Taela to find out if they'd be willing to arrange for a priest to make regular visits to the Doxies' Guild to help them with their herbal/medical needs. But he doesn't get along with Godspeaker Adara, so he can't make the proposal to her himself. He's heard Blaze gets along with Adara, so...

After some back-and-forth, Blaze agrees to let Drake introduce her to the Guildmistress of the Doxies and to try to make an arrangement between the Guild and the Temple.

Drake offers to walk Blaze home, because one of his minions has passed him a note saying that there's an unnoticable person in the bar; he thought it was someone stalking him, but perhaps it's someone stalking Blaze instead? Possibly, she thinks; she knows a reason someone might be trying to kill her, but not who it is. Or maybe it's all OK. No one jumps them on the way to Blaze's digs, where they part company.

(Blaze then spends the night surveilling her own house, but does not catch anyone trying to assassinate her. A probable bard stops by but doesn't find her home. Max doesn't return, despite having been offered crash space.)
